We are an apostolic group of the Catholic Church that is present in more that 50 parishes in the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens, nationally and internally as well. The Cursillo movement began 75 years ago in Mallorca, Spain, but its message has spread throughout the world! The message and the tools that the Cursillo gives you are based on one thing- Friendship!
The Cursillo begins with a 3 day retreat that takes place at a retreat center in Brooklyn. What you live during that weekend is really about encounters:
- An encounter with myself: Who are you? What are you searching for in life?
- An encounter with Christ, your faithful and inseparable friend!
- An encounter with the people that are around you- How to discover Jesus in those surrounding you via friendship.
After that wonderful experience, we don’t leave you alone on your new path! The Cursillo gives you tools that will help you as you follow Jesus in evangelizing your different environments… But how do we do this?
That happiness that you uncover during the weekend, that joy of recognizing your friendship with Jesus, while making it more profound and substantial, is supported by the group reunions and the weekly Cursillista meeting called Ultreya.

Somos un grupo de la Iglesia Católica, que esta presente en mas de 50 parroquias en la Diócesis de Brooklyn y Queens, al igual que a nivel nacional e internacional. Los Cursillos comenzaron hace 75 años en Mallorca España, pero su mensaje se ha difundido por todo el planeta! El mensaje y las herramientas que te da el cursillo
están basados en una cosa, “la Amistad”
El Cursillo comienza con un retiro de 3 días que se lleva a cabo en un centro de retiros en Brooklyn. Lo que se experimenta ahí en realidad se trata de varios encuentros:
- Un encuentro contigo mismo: ¿Quien eres? ¿Que buscas de tu vida?
- ¡Un encuentro con Cristo, tu amigo fiel e inseparable!
- Un encuentro con la gente que esta a tu alrededor- Como descubrir a Cristo a través de la Amistad con los que te rodean.
Después de esa experiencia maravillosa, no te dejamos solo en los caminos del Señor. El Cursillo te da herramientas para poder seguir a Cristo y evangelizar tus Ambientes. ¿Como hacemos esto?
Ese sentimiento de alegría, al saberse amigo de Cristo se va saboreando, profundizando y haciendo duradero a través de las reuniones de grupo y nuestra reunión semanal llamada Ultreya.
