REQUIREMENTS FOR BAPTISM

Congratulations on planning the Baptism of your child!

Thank you for making us part of this celebration!

  1. Registrations take place every Sunday from 10:30 am (after the 9:00 am Mass) until 3:00 PM in O’Brien Hall Upstairs in Our Lady of Guadalupe room. It is also possible to call to the Rectory Office to request to make the registration in a different schedule.
  2. Children must be less than 7 (seven) years old on the day of their baptism.
  3. The consent of at least one parent is necessary.
  4. Parent(s) must bring a photo ID on the day of the registration.
  5. The Birth Certificate of the child is required for registration.
  6. Candidates to be godparents – one godmother and one godfather – must have all the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) in order to be admitted as a godparent. They are also to comply with the following:
    • Parent(s) must bring some form of a photo ID for themselves and for godparents on the day of the registration.
    • Parent(s) and godparents not a member of the parish must have the name and address of the church they attend.
    • Godparents must have the dates and the name(s) of the church(es) where they receive their sacraments. It is desirable that the parents provide to us the same information about themselves.
  7. Both parents and godparents must attend a mandatory Baptismal Preparation Workshop.
  8. Only the Catholic faithful can be godparents. Persons who are not Catholic can function only as witnesses and in such case it is mandatory that they attend the Baptism Preparation Workshop. The names of the witnesses will appear on the Baptismal Certificate.
  9. The Baptismal Preparation Workshop is being offered every last Saturday of each month. It begins promptly at 7:00 pm and finishes at approximately 9:00 p.m., at the Evangelization Center “Benedict XVIâ€. Latecomers may be turned away.
  10. Parents and godparents are earnestly invited to offer a donation to the Church on the day of the Baptism. Use the special envelopes made available for such purpose.
  11. Baptisms are celebrated according to the following schedule: first and third Saturday of the month at 2:30 pm in Spanish (in Church); second Saturday of the month at 2:30 pm in English (in Church).
  12. Parent(s) and godparents must be physically present on the day of the Baptism.

Preparation Class Schedule
Last Saturday of the every month: 7:00 p.m. in the Evangelization Center

Baptisms Schedule
First and Third Saturday (Spanish): 2:30 p.m.
Second Saturday (English): 2:30 p.m.

Baptism (for children 7 years of age & older)
The child must be registered in our regular CCD program. After two consecutive years of formation he/she will be baptized and receive the other sacraments of Initiation.
